About

I am a Yorkshire based creative with over twenty years experience of working in the arts as actor, playwright, lecturer, producer and spoken word performer.

I trained at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts, where I was a recipient of the BBC Radio Carleton Hobbs Radio Award. After graduating in 2001 I worked across radio, theatre and tv.

I went on to study playwriting at the Royal Court Theatre and my first play was produced as part of their Young Writers Festival 2007.

I have since written for companies including: York Theatre Royal, Trestle Theatre, Company of Angels, Ice and Fire, Guild of Misrule, Pilot. 

I have a PhD in Playwriting from the University of York, where I was Co-Programme Leader of the MA Playwriting 2020 - 2023.

Since 2023 I have been in role as Executive Producer at charitable community producing company ARCADE, during which time I have led on a variety of projects including: Love Stories, Wardrobes, Creative Youth Project, Now Then! Programme, Creative Connections.

I am a slam-winning spoken word poet and am Associate Artist at York spoken word organisation Say Owt. Since 2014, Say Owt has run regular poetry events in the form of slams, workshops, scratches, open mics.
